Essential Tips for Crafting a Standout Entry
As entrants submit or have submitted their work to the Summit Creative Award, remembering the importance of simplicity in presentation is crucial. With judges of the highest caliber focusing primarily on the substance of the work rather than its presentation, here are key strategies to refine submissions and maintain the judges’ interest:
Anonymity is Key
Our judging process is strictly blind to ensure fairness and objectivity. Do not include your firm’s name or any identifiable marks in your submission materials. You may include your client’s name and mark, of course, but not your own as the agent or hired creative firm.
Show Transformation
For categories involving redesign or rebranding, it’s vital to include both ‘Before’ and ‘After’ samples. This approach not only showcases your creative impact but also clearly demonstrates the project’s evolution.
Balance Your Samples
While showcasing your work comprehensively is important, including too many examples can distract or even annoy the judges. Choose samples that best represent the essence of your project and omit any that are redundant or not relevant. For instance, if you are entering your client’s Annual Report, do not also include your client’s website. This is outside the bounds of the category and only complicates the administrative precheck process.
Keep Descriptions Professional
If your entry includes a project description, focus squarely on the work itself. Our judges are seasoned professionals who prioritize substance over salesmanship.
Let your Creative Shine in Decks
Most entries do not need a presentation deck, but if yours does, ensure it underscores your creative work rather than your presentation skills. Avoid over-elaboration; let the creativity speak for itself.
