When is the competition season?
The Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award is in the summer with the deadline in late June.
When are winners officially announced?
Winners are announced in August.
Are all entrants notified or just the winners?
All entrants of the awards will receive an email informing of the completion of the competition. All winners will receive a Winner's Packet in the mail.
What are the levels of winning in the MEA competition?
There are three levels of recognition in the Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award:
- Best of Category
- Winner
- Finalist
All are Summit MEA winners and eligible for all the benefits of recognition including; SIA microsites, winner's directory, publicity tools, certificates and option for trophy purchase.

How many entries compete each year in the competitions?
500+ annually.
With what criteria do judges evaluate submissions?
Entries are judged using both individual and overall criteria.
Individual:
- Its strength of approach relative to audience and product/service.
- Whether it establishes a feeling of want or need.
- How well it moves the audience closer to action.
Overall:
- Ability to change, influence or reinforce audience knowledge, attitudes or beliefs.
How many awards are given in each category?
19% of submissions were recognized in the 2008 competition. 10.5% Finalists, 7.5% Winners and 1% Best of Category.
If we win, we receive an awards certificate but we would like additional certificates for the team and a trophy for our client. Who can order a trophy or additional certificate?
All winners are permitted to order additional certificates or a trophy. Each winning company receives an order form in their winner packet but you can also use the on-line store.
How does our winning firm get its Microsite on the Award's web site?
Only Summit Award winners are eligible to develop a winner's microsite.
The Awards site has a fully functional Award Winners area that enables winners to have the flexibility to present a complete profile of their company. Visit the Get Listed link in the Winner's Gallery section of the site for step by step instructions. Submitting a listing is straight forward but the award's staff does provide technical assistance via e-mail.
Who sponsor's the Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award?
The Summit MEA is conducted by The Summit International Awards organization. The Awards is not tied to any outside advertiser, magazine, trade association, ad club or other outside influence.
The Summit International Awards is an independent, international organization focused on creating a community of marketing creativity and excellence. It conducts an impartial, 'blind' judging and, once completed, it recognizes, celebrates and promotes creative and marketing excellence in those winning companies and individuals.
Its judging process is designed to be impartial and free from outside influences by withholding both the names of the judges on the panels as well as the contestant's names throughout the entire evaluation process. Both judge's and contestant's names are withheld until after award winning entries are selected. This anonymity shelters all involved from any vested interest which may attempt to influence the judges' opinions or the judging process.
When do the Entry Kits become available?
The Summit MEA call for entries kit is scheduled for release each April.
